February Wrap Up and March TBR
Hey Y’all! The past month has been absolutely crazy, so I have gotten next to nothing done. I had a super slow reading month during February and I am looking forward to reading lots of great things in the month of March!
In February, I read two books. One of which was a re-read that I listened to on audiobook. So, I really only read one book. That is kind of sad… The book I re-read was The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I love the world in this book and how typical tropes are done so incredibly well. There is lots of action and political intrigue, which I appreciate. I gave this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed re-reading (hearing?) it and the audiobook itself was pretty good.
The other book I read this month was 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. This book is about a girl that commits suicide and she records tapes about why she did it. The tapes are sent out to thirteen people, detailing how they fit into the story. This book was beautifully written and is so incredibly important. It helped me to understand what a large impact our words and actions have on those around us. I gave this book 5/5 stars and would recommend it to absolutely everyone.
I am hoping to have a better reading month during March. I am currently halfway through both The Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard (the sequel to the Red Queen) and The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket (the first in The Series of Unfortunate Events). I think I can have both finished by the end of this week.
After I read those, I plan on reading Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. I read Fangirl last year and loved it, so I have been waiting no-so-patiently to get my hands on this one!
I also would like to read Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin. This book is an alternate history in which the axis powers win and a girl goes on a cross-continental motorcycle race in the hopes of killing Hitler.
This month for my biology class I am reading A Planet of Viruses: Second Edition by Carl Zimmer. I have already started and I’m not hating it so far, which is a plus. I will also be starting the Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls for my literature class next week.
What book did you read and love in February? Any plans for March? Please comment below. I would love to hear from you!
