Spring 2017 Book Haul
Hey y’all! Today I have a huge book haul! It is all the books I have bought since January going up until the end of March. I kept saying that I wanted to get a few more books so that I could have a fuller post, but I did not realize how out of hand the situation had gotten! So settle in, because this is going to be a long one!
- Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods by Rick Riordan is a collection of greek mythology stories narrated my Percy Jackson. It is said to be hilarious, plus I love Percy’s humor! I am super excited to learn more about the lives of the greek gods in a fun format!
- Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is one of the first dystopian novels ever. It was published back in 1931. I don’t know when I will read it, but I am happy to have it!
- The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton is another classic, published in 1967. It is incredibly iconic, and follows two teenage gangs. Again, I have no idea when I will read this one, but it is nice to have.
- The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls is a memoir that follows Jeannette and her family through a childhood of homelessness. I read this book last month and I loved it!
- Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson is a contemporary novel. It surrounds a family as they spend one last summer together after they receive devastating news. I read Since You’ve Been Gone last year and it is my favorite contemporary, so I am looking forward to where this one takes me!
- Kings Cage by Victoria Aveyard is the third book in the Red Queen series. It is a YA dystopian series that I have been loving!
- A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray is about a girl who is sent to an victorian English boarding school after her mother dies. It deals with the supernatural and historical England.
- The Diviners by Libba Bray is a supernatural historical fiction novel. It follows multiple characters in New York City in 1926 as a dark power has awoken.
- Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray is the sequel to The Diviners
- Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas is the 5th book in the Throne of Glass series. I just read Throne of Glass a few weeks ago and I am pumped to continue on with this series.
- Unashamed by Lecrae is the autobiography of christian rapper, Lecrae. I have heard it is incredibly important and profound, so I am looking forward to reading this one!
- Looking for Lovely by Annie F. Downs is about loving the moment you are in and collecting the moments that matter. I have heard Annie speak a few times and I love her! I also read Lets All Be Brave by her, so I am excited to start reading Looking for Lovely!
- It’s Not What You Think by Jefferson Bethke is about the misconceptions that christians have about christianity. I watch his youtube videos a lot, so I am interested in seeing what he has to say in this book!
- Planet of Viruses by Carl Zimmer is a bind up of essays that I had to read for my biology class. It wasn’t a grand time, but I did not hate it.
What book have you gotten lately? Are there any of these that I should read next? Please comment below! I would love to hear from you!
