Summer 2017 Anticipated Reads
Hey y’all! There are so many great books coming out this summer! I have compiled a list of my 5 most anticipated reads from June 6 to August 8! I am so excited for all of these! It is going to be a great summer for reading some fantastic new books!
Once and For All by Sarah Dessen is coming out on June 6, 2017. I have only read a few of Sarah Dessen’s books, but I have enjoyed what I have read. This novel follows a girl who is a the daughter of a wedding planner. She has seen everything when it comes to weddings, so when she meets a guy, she holds him back. This book sounds cute and perfect for a day on the beach!
Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab comes out on June 13, 2017. It is the second book in the Monsters of Verity series, the first being This Savage Song. I read This Savage Song in January and loved it! This series follows August, a monster with a heart, and Kate, and a monstrous girl. There is more war and violence than ever before in the city and they set out to get to the bottom of it. I love these stories because Victoria Schwab has beautiful writing, lovely character development, and amazing world building!
Now I Rise by Kirsten White comes out on June  27, 2017. It is the sequel to And I Darken, which I also read earlier this year. I did not love this book, but I am interested in seeing where the series goes. I have a spoiler free review of that book up, so go check it out for more information!
Because You Love to Hate Me edited by Ameriie comes out on July 11, 2017. Popular YA authors teamed up with booktubers to write a bind up of short stories. These stories follow famous fairy tales from the villain's point of view. I am excited for this book for so many reasons! One being my favorite authors AND favorite booktubers are contributing. The second being that I adore villainous backstories and fairy tale retellings. Some of the stories include Medusa, Sherlock Holmes, and Jack and the Beanstalk.
This is not the end by Chandler Baker comes out on August 8. Everyone in this world has one resurrection to use or forfeit before their 18th birthday. One day, she is in a car accident with her father and brother and she could save one of them. But only one. Then, there is the issue that she illegally promised her resurrection to some else, someone who is not dead yet. She searches for answers behind the resurrections and along the way meets a boy who thinks the whole thing is wrong. The premise of this book sounds fascinating and I am excited to read it!
