Unpopular Opinions Book Tag

Hey y’all! This book tag was really popular a while ago, but I just loved the questions so much that I had to do it for myself! This was created by The Book Archer on Youtube (Find it here).

1. A Popular Book or series that you didn't like.

I did not like A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. I know that most people love these books, but I found them tedious to read. Plus, they are incredibly unfortunate (hence the name) and I found myself getting depressed when I read them.  
2. A Popular Book or series that everyone else seems to hate but you love.

I love the Maze Runner series. I am still reading all the new books that he releases because this is my favorite dystopian world! I feel like people gave up on this series a while ago, but I am still really loving it!
3. A Love Triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with OR an OTP that you don't like.

I don’t love Magnus and Alec from the Mortal Instruments. I think they are okay together, but I honestly think that their personalities do not blend well.

4. A popular book Genre that you hardly reach for.

I never read classics. I need to fix this, but I haven’t.

5. A popular or beloved character that you do not like.

I do not like Leo Valdez from The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan. I did not find him endearing or funny. In all honesty I would have loved the books so much more without him.
6. A popular author that you can't seem to get into.

I have to say Sarah Dessen. I have read two of her books, but I do not feel attached to them. They were okay, but I’m not feeling inclined to read another by her.
7. A popular book trope that you're tired of seeing.

I am tired of the villainous character that has a heart. Whether it be in a romantic way or not, lots of books suddenly reveal that the bad guy has layers and some dark past. It gets annoying when all you want to do is hate them, but nooooo, they need to be saved too.

8. A popular series that you have no interest in reading.

I began the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, but I will not complete it. I realized that those books were not bringing me joy, so I stopped reading them.

9. The saying goes "The book is always better than the movie", but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?

I definitely liked the first Divergent movie better than the books. The casting was incredible and the simulations were fascinating to watch on screen. The next two movies were not as good, but I really enjoyed the first one.
